Date:
Sunday, April 19, 2015 - 11:00
Distance:
11.00 km

The Kymin Dash is a challenging and very scenic 7.1 mile race, straight up to the top of the Kymin above Monmouth, and back down on a long scenic loop of the Wye Valley.

Spirit of Monmouth Running Club are proud to present this race for the 3rd year following on from the continued success and growth of last year.

Registration and finish are at Monmouth School Sports Club (MSSC) The start is 15 minutes walk from registration. The course (and the route to the start) will be well marshaled and there will be 2 water stations. It is mainly on tarmac and forest roads, and is suitable for road shoes. All finishers will receive a T-shirt.

The course starts out flat for around 50 metres before climbing the Kymin road to the Round House, a local viewpoint at around 850ft. The opening mile or so will certainly give your lungs a workout. What goes up must come down and a gentle descent through fields and the bluebell carpeted forest tracks before a long flat finish along the Hadnock Road into the Monmouth School Sports Club.

Prize-giving will be at MSSC. As last year, there will be prizes for the 'King' and 'Queen' of the hill as well as finishing places. There will be cake and other refreshments available after the race. We are grateful to our sponsors MSSC for making the race possible. Any profits generated will be donated to Action Duchenne.
