EA (England Athletics) Competition Licence
You can also apply for an EA Competition Licence. This additional card costs £15 per year and allows you to get discounted entry for most races. For most events you will see two costs of entry, as in the example below.
To get the discounted entry you must hold an EA Competition Licence. The licence means that you pay race insurance annually (£15 per year) rather than per race (typically £2 for each race). Therefore you only need to enter seven races per year to save money by having a competition licence.
It is very important that you do not apply for a discounted entry if you do not have a valid EA Competition Licence. Race organisers may disqualify you from a race, you will not be insured in the event of an accident and this will also effect the reputation of our club in the local running community. If entering at the discounted rate, you must also race in a green club t-shirt or vest.
The £18 renewal fee is due in April and is payable online. Those who have applied for their first EA card between January and March will not have to pay a renewal fee until April the following year, thus giving you up to three free months.
It is club policy not to issue an EA Competition Licence to runners who do not firstly have a SRC Membership Card. You can apply for both cards at the same time which will cost you £18 or if you only want club membership and no Competition Licence, you'll just pay £3 p/a.
How do I apply for these?
