EnduranceLife Gower Coastal Trail Run

Friday, November 20, 2015 - 10:39
Sam Blanning

Several Southville runners braved howling gales and rivers of mud to run the Gower EnduranceLife challenge on Saturday. Katie Egan shrugged off injury to finish 2nd woman in the 10k, while Mark Ducker came 4th in a marathon that was an achievement just to finish. Everyone who completed the race deserves credit - as do the organisers and marshals.

Despite conditions variously described as "brutalising" and "the worst ever" the atmosphere was one of positivity and determination before, during and after the race. And it only made coffee and lunch in the café afterwards all the sweeter.
