Exciting news - we're coming home! After a nomadic year of meeting in parks and under flyovers, we will be returning to the Southbank Club on Dean Lane from Tuesday 27th July.

We understand that not everyone is ready to meet in large numbers indoors, and it will be entirely optional to do so. We will be meeting in the Southbank's garden for the moment while the weather is good and the evenings are bright. Groups are free to meet outside the Southbank (e.g. Dame Emily Park just down the road) or stick to Greville Smyth if they prefer more space. The max group size of 12 will no longer apply from the 20th, but group leaders retain full discretion over whether to limit their numbers.

One thing we will retain from the Covid-secure era is the Facebook event for every running night. Group leaders will be stating there if they are applying a max group size and/or meeting away from the Southbank. It will no longer be compulsory to pre-register but it would still be advisable to join the event in case you need to book a spot in your preferred group.

Returning to the Southbank will mean we have access to baggage and toilet facilities again and somewhere to meet out of the elements when the nights start getting darker. From the 27th the charge of 50p per running night towards the room hire will return. As always, there will be no commitment - just turn up and run and bring your 50p.

(Baggage is unsecured and left at your own risk. Valuables should be left in the car / home / office or brought on the run. In extremis there are a few lockers that can be hired at the bar for a £5 key deposit.)

There are still some logistics we are working out with the Southbank so please continue to follow our updates via our Facebook group (http://fb.com/groups/southvillerunningclub) and the mailing list (eepurl.com/qgKd9).
