Two Southvillers braved the first flurries of the Canadian winter on Sunday to run in the 2015 Toronto Marathon. Simon Tucker (who moved to Canada this year) completed the half marathon in 2:14:54 while Sam Blanning (visiting Canada to run for the Toronto Humane Society) completed the full marathon in 3:53:22.

An enjoyable and (mostly) flat course with lots of support from the locals, especially in Kew Beach where the whole town seems to turn out to encourage you just as you reach the crucial 35km mark and the wall looms into view. Great views of both the lake and the Toronto skyline. And you can't beat the local poutine and hot dogs for recovery fuel.
