A record 64 Southvillers turned out on Sunday for the Great Bristol Half Marathon. Congratulations to all finishers, and also to Tony Myers and Jo Finkel (and anyone we've missed) who stood out in the rain to marshal and cheer us on.

28 Southvillers headed to Bathurst Estate in Cirencester for a full 24 hours of running through day and night and all kinds of terrain. We had two teams of eight, two of five and two amazing solos in Mark Ducker and James Miller who went through the entire 24 hours by themselves.

Congratulations to the 59 Southville runners who turned out for the Mobmatch 10k on Friday.

Barely a few days after the Great Bristol 10k we had another massive turnout with 33 runners at the Tyntesfield 10k. Congrats to all who ran, including Thomas Guest who finished top of the vet-50 category and 10th overall.

An amazing 60 runners turned out from Southville (officially), nearly equalling last year's record turnout of 61. Congratulations to all who raced.

Congratulations to the 13 Southville runners who participated in the 2016 London Marathon. All that training paid off with some amazing times and PBs. A great turnout for a race that's so difficult to get into - fingers crossed for everyone who enters the ballot for 2017.

A good turnout by SRCers at the Pensford 10k on Sunday 24th April, in the first race of the 2016 Southville Running Club Championship.

The first Saturday of the month is already the official Southville Running Club monthly run at Ashton Court parkrun (parkrun is a free 5k run starting every Saturday at 9am). But to encourage participation and to motivate runners to improve their times on the hill we’ve decided to create the SRC parkrun Prize. Ooh!

The SRC Championship started in 2011. It was devised to encourage runners who hadn’t raced before, to give it a go and get to enjoy the social side of racing and to make it more interesting for those who already appreciate it. After most races, people stop off at a pub or coffee house to have a drink, something to eat and chew over the day’s events. Perhaps celebrate a personal victory or soften the pain of a bad day. Most importantly it’s about having fun.

Congratulations to the 13 Southville runners who completed the Rok The Stones trail marathon on Saturday - a superb turnout. The course was challenging and muddy throughout, but the rain mostly held off and runners were treated to some stunning views over the Mendips and Bristol.

The Aztec West Fast 5k lived up to its name this week with half the Southville contingent achieving personal bests: Mark Ducker, Sergio BP, Dave Liddament and James Gale, as well as an age PB for Phil Murray. Phil was also first vet-50 and Paul Deaton first vet-45.

A great turnout for one of the first races of the year at TACH's muddy Moorland Multi-terrain 10k. And a superb Southville one-two from Paul Deaton and Phil Murray who claimed the first two places on the podium.
